Encounters on the Road to Jerusalem |
Walking longer than a year. |
Encounters on the Road to Jerusalem is the story of how we lived our dream to walk for a long time. This book tells the story of our encounters with people, places, sun, wind, rain, snow, roads, and our own inner selves as we walked across America and southern Europe. We started in California January 2009, walked 5,321 miles (8,620 kilometers), and arrived in Jerusalem 23 December 2010, 23 months later. This book expands on the web journal we kept while we were walking (Now at our Walking east California to Jerusalem page). We divide Encounters on the Road to Jerusalem into the eight seasons of our pilgrimage. Each season centers on a different geographic area: the southwest; the Great Plains and Missouri; Illinois; Michigan and Southern Canada, the Erie Canal and Hudson River; Portugal and Santiago; the Camino de Santiago and southern France; the Sierra Nevadas of California (a break); southeastern France, the Genoa area, and the Mideast. Encounters on the Road to Jerusalem is a perfect bound (soft cover) book with 350 pages and more than 190 illustrations. It is now in its second edition. It is printed in black and white with a full color cover. It costs (with a 10% discount) $18.45 plus postage. The PDF eBook version of the book is in full color and costs $7.99. Preview or purchase
