I think this is the name of the village i have stopped for the night. It is stage 9 on the map the is in the resources under information.
After Manford, my new walking partner sleeping this morning I rant into him again in the town before this one. Some how he got in front of me and he started one hour after me. It had something to do with me stopping in Ventose for coffee.
Manford is a 59 retired database administrator or something like what I did. He told me to post his picture. I will have to do that later because I left the camera and phone back in the bedroom.
I met Manford after Los Arcos. He was way ahead of me and we were walking about the same speed. It was 10km before we were together. Now either I catch up with him or he catches up with me.
I am in the area where I lost my pilgrim passport in 2007 and it is spooking me a little. Tomorrow I should pass through Santo Domingo where I got a new one and continued to Bergos to put my pilgrimage on hold 5 years ago. A sign post said Bergos was 89 km from here. That would make is around 4 days from here. Once I past that point I will be beyond the point I walked before and into new memories.
This whole trip was like reliving many of the memories from the past. I see many things and even some people I met in the villages before. All memories have been good though a few scares ones from the problems I had back them.
I miss our coffee breaks to gather back home but I am I am not missing out on the coffee. The coffee here is great as the Beer and Wine!
Well I will check in again soon,
Marty
I stopped here for breakfast and this place spooks me. This the area where I started having all the problems five years ago. I am going to fill my water bottles an head to a higher plan.
Tonight I am where I lost my pilgrim passport five years ago. So far I have this one but I am going to eat with the German in a little while. So who knows.
Yesterday I was in Viana and the day before Los Arcos where Mike left.
May 13 we finally stopped in Cirauqui I think.
This is tuff updating using the phone.
Mike and I arrived here around one this afternoon and decided to stay the night. I am uploading a picture of something to see how long it will take to upload pictures Most of these internet connections are ok for email and posting pictures but not much good for uploading pictures. Using the iPhone I would need an open WiFi connection so I it will be spotty when you see pictures from me.
I just figured via the map I have walked about 112km since I started the Camino at St. Jean Pied-de-Port. With all the side trips it could be more than 130km(80 miles)
Let me check on that picture now…
This picture is what many of the loder bridges look like. I think this one was from 3 – 4 days ago. I don´t have my notes with me right now.
Well today I did some visiting with ´my brother mike, He just walked up when I was sitting on the bench in the park. Maybe Daniel will be here tomorrow but I don´t know if I will be here yet as I might start walking in the morning. don´t know.
I need to get on the road and start moving. I drank too much beer so I should not be on the computer tonight. oo many words are getting spelled right. What is up with that?
I will work on those pictures. I get stuck on the cell phone sending them.
Lets see it this updattdated not. It is an liburary and you know how they are…
Marty
I did not get as far ar I wanted today. On the other hand I got as far as I did.
Marvin left Panphoma arounf 9:30 but Daniel had a schedule mist understanding so ge left later. I finally started walking around 11am and arived here in Uterga after going over Alto del Perdon where the windmills live. Tomorod I will met up with Daniel and mayby my brother Mike. He is in or near Puente la Reina. If I can contact Mike I will ask hime to meet me in Obanos.
Pictues will have to wait for now. I have to figure out it works from here.
Later
Marty
Good morning all,
It is 6:20am here and I woke up thinking I would beat the crowd to the bathrooms. Well with about 140 other pilgrims staying at this algergue it didn´t happen. Most of the pilgrims like to get an early starts so getting up later has is advantages. So I am here waiting for some of them to get on the road.
I will walk to the bus to see Marvin and Daniel off this morning and then I will start walking the walk again. I will head toward Cizur Menor up through Zariquiegui past mounumento peregrino in the direction of Puente la Reina but only hope to make as far a Obanos. That is about 21km. I am well rested so I should make Obanos. Oh, there are 1.6km to a mile. The map is in Metric and it is to early for me to figure miles for you.
Daniel tells me I will get to Santiago by Christmas even if I keep taking days off. I know I will get there much sooner when I am walking west and not doing a lot of sight-seeing on the internet.
It is getting noisy around here now. People are turning on more lights and those too sleepy heads might be getting up soon. I hope they remember they have busses to catch. Daniel is a late sleeper and Marvin gets up when we do. I am used to the snoring and sleep right through it. Wait…nobody snores here, just ask them >:-)
My time is running out on the internet PC so I have to go.
I will update you again when time permits.
Miss you,
Marty
It is time for my after noon nap but I see that you are just getting your dat started. Hope all is well with you.
Some of of the cothes I brought along were too large so I replaced them today. The sizes here tend to be smaller than back home so I had to try them on. All is well with that. The cut on my finger is healing well. My knee is no longer sore. Now I am waing in line to use the washing machine. Yes, they have washing machines in the albergues!
Marvin & Danial are napping while I wait. I wont wait too long. I can do the Laundry later.
I have received many emails but have not had time to respone yet.
I am heading for my nap now.
Later, Marty
